Abstract

The purpose of this research paper was to investigate the perceptions of students of
Institute of Education and Research (IER) regarding the use of library. The main
objectives were to investigate the use of library by the students during their library
class, to know their satisfaction in terms of learning resources available to them in the
library and to document barriers to the library borrowers. A questionnaire was used for
data collection from a sample of hundred randomly selected students. The data were
analyzed using percentages. The main findings indicate that most of the respondents
used the library for study purposes and they were very much satisfied with the library
staff and library services. Moreover, most students took their library class in the library
and spent the allotted time in the library. The paper recommends that students be
motivated to visit the library on a daily basis.
